What started as a simple deck using Risen Reef to ramp aggressively quickly evolved into the combo heavy deck you see now. Risen Reef now shares the pillar spot of this deck with Omnath, Locus of Mana, Overgrowth Elemental, and Thunderkin Awakener. All of which form the basis for the multitude of combos that this deck can achieve relatively easily. Risen Reef ramps mana. Omnath beefs up other elementals. Overgrowth beefs up itself. Thunderkin brings elementals back for a quick attack. However, Risen can drop lands and cause Omnath to beef others up. Omnath can beef up Thunderkin so they can bring back more powerful elementals. When those elementals die, Overgrowth grows in strength. And the many other elementals within color the multiple strategies in their own ways.
