Description

This is my first deck submission and has been so fun to play as it can sometimes feel like a puzzle with many choices.

This is a Dimir mid range deck built around enchantments and there are many opening hands you can work with.

Nashi is a big focus and great early game. Most opponents will try to remove or focus her instantly or else you will scale and win because of the value she gives you from her ability.

Fear of Infinity keeps you alive and becomes crazy fuel for Thran Vigil. You\’ll find some nice traps in this deck and bluffs with Fungal Fortitude on Fear of Infinity giving you a surprise board removal, extra lifelink, and then boost your resurrected Fear of Infinity with Thran Vigil.

I found Vren looking for answers after regularly losing to token spam and Urabask\’s Forge since Defiled Crypt was too slow on its own. Having both options available and the flexibility to easily cycle cards using Cadaver Lab/Combat Research with Entity Tracker or The Tale of Tamiyo (which hits surprisingly often). It\’s great to watch them scramble to eliminate Nashi then surrender when you drop Vren, ready to sacrifice Nashi to trade with their board.

Fear of Isolation is a niceblocker who works well with recycling Sporogenic Isolation and several other enchantments (even Soured Springs for a final 1 pt of damage). It\’s worth noting you can enchant your own creature and have your opponent still sacrifice.

Aside from Undercity Sewers all cards in this deck are dirt cheap and I believe another dual land would serve well enough. However, Undercity Sewers is fantastic! I feel so happy whenever I can throw a Fear of Infinity straight into the graveyard!

A couple of considerations:

Overlord of the Balemurk – early 2 drop to search for Nashi, enchantment synergy

Enduring Curiosity – replaced with Entity Tracker with MUCH better results, but could still find a place here.

Get Out – counter or retrigger/protect enchantments
