2026 EDH Combos: Go Infinite With The BEST New Combos

With so many new cards in 2026, there are a lot of new combos that came along with it. Let’s look at what’s new in 2026.

MTG, EDH, Commander, 2026 EDH Combos, card artwork, celestial reunion, lorwyn eclipsed

2026 is a year that saw a TON of new cards enter Magic: The Gathering. Every year, there are already a ton of cards getting injected into the game. However, 2026 saw more Standard sets than normal, along with new Commander decks, eternal products, Secret Lairs, and Mystery Booster: Commander. With all these new cards come new combos. Some are enablers, and others are payoffs. Whatever they are, this article will look at the various new combos that came about in 2026.

2026 EDH Combos: Lorwyn Eclipsed

Isilu, Carrier of Twilight

This first combo is very simple and can be run in any Orzhov deck. It’s centered around the backside of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn, Isilu, Carrier of Twilight. This gives all your nontoken creatures persist. All you need for the combo is a creature with undying, such as Butcher Ghoul, and any sacrifice outlet. When an undying creature dies, it comes back with a +1/+1 counter, and when a creature with persist dies, it comes back with a -1/-1 counter. So, if a creature has both of these abilities, they cancel each other out. Since they die without a counter, they’ll always come back when they die. So, you can sacrifice them infinitely with a card like Ashnod's Altar, and then use any death trigger payoff such as Bastion of Remembrance to win.

Horde of Notions

This combo is easy to assemble, and can even been done in an in-archetype deck for Elementals. It’s built around looping Horde of Notions with Jegantha, the Wellspring. All you need is any haste enabler, something Elementals have with Lavaleaper, and any sacrifice outlet. Then, use Jegantha, the Wellspring to make one mana of every color, sacrifice it, then use Horde of Notions‘s ability to cast it from the graveyard for free. Doing this gives you an infinite number of enter the battlefield and death triggers, something helpful with cards like Risen Reef to help dig through your deck.

Kithkeeper

Kithkeeper is a card that combos easily with Eldrazi Dispalcer and Ashnod's Altar and at least two colors among permanents you control. All you need to do is use Eldrazi Displacer on Kithkeeper, then sacrifice two of the tokens it makes to Ashnod's Altar to keep doing this infinitely. If you have three or more colors, then you’ll make an infinite number of creature tokens too. The best part about this combo is that it can all be done at instant speed, so you can do it at the end step before your turn starts so you can have an infinite number of creatures when your turn starts.

Mass Land Theft

Want to steal everyone’s lands? You can with Darkness Descends and Necroskitter. To do so, you just need to cast Natural Affinity to turn all lands into 2/2 creatures, then cast Darkness Descends to give them all two -1/-1 counters. Since they were creatures, Necroskitter returns them all to your side of the battlefield. It’s a bit mana-intensive, but is a game-winning combo since your opponents won’t likely be able to recover from not having any lands anymore.

Flourishing Defenses

One of the easiest combos to come from Lorwyn Eclipsed comes in its own precon. All you need is Flourishing Defenses and Blowfly Infestation along with two creatures with one toughness. Put a -1/-1 counter on one of the 1/1 creatures, causing both effects to trigger. Flourishing Defenses makes a new 1/1 creature, and then Blowfly Infestation puts a -1/-1 counter on the extra one from the start. Keep looping these for infinite enter the battlefield, leave the battlefield, and death triggers.

2026 EDH Combos: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Chrome Dome

This combo is an easy way to create an army of tokens with haste. All you need is any creature that can tap for five or more mana (in this example, we’ll use Mona Lisa, Science Geek. Tap it to add enough mana to activate Chrome Dome‘s ability. Use this to create a copy of Corridor Monitor. With its enter trigger, untap Mona Lisa, Science Geek and repeat the process. You can also use Sewer-veillance Cam in place of Corridor Monitor, and if Mona Lisa can make six mana, you can draw out your entire deck too since it’ll make infinite mana.

Guac Pizza Combo

This ones for the Pauper Commander players. With Guac & Marshmallow Pizza, Devoted Druid, and Banishing Knack, you have an infinite. Use Banishing Knack on Devoted Druid, then activate it to add a Green mana. With that mana, cast Guac & Marshmallow Pizza and give Devoted Druid +2/+2 and untapping it. Then, use Devoted Druid’s granted ability from Banishing Knack to tap Devoted Druid and return the pizza to your hand. Then, use Devoted Druid‘s ability to untap itself and repeat the process. This makes infinite Green mana, and an infinitely growing stat for Devoted Druid.

Irma Loop

Irma, Part-Time Mutant is one of the best cards from the TMNT set, and has an incredibly easy-to-accomplish infinite. To do it, all you have to do is have it become a copy of Omarthis, Ghostfire Initiate. Since Irma puts a +1/+1 counter on itself and turns itself colorless when using its ability, that will trigger Omarthis. This then causes Irma to trigger, and they’ll put an infinite number of +1/+1 counters on each other. Since it’s a “may” ability, this does not create a loop, simply makes it a creature with infinite power and toughness.

2026 EDH Combos: Secrets of Strixhaven

Spiritcall Enthusiast

Spiritcall Enthusiast has a variety of different combos, but the best one is with Stormsplitter and Phyrexian Altar. All you have to do is cast any instant or sorcery to trigger Stormsplitter, which makes a copy of itself. This will make Spiritcall Enthusiast prepared if it wasn’t already. Then, cast Scrollboost, which makes both Stormsplitters trigger, which makes two more tokens, and re-prepares Spiritcall Enthusiast. Sacrifice one of the Stormsplitters to make a White mana. Use another mana source to make one extra mana. Then, cast Scrollboost, which makes three token copies of Stormsplitter from all the tokens. Now, you always have enough Stormsplitter tokens to sacrifice to Phyrexian Altar to cast Scrollboost again. This gives you an infinite number of Stormsplitter tokens, on top of infinite mana.

Berta Infinite

Perhaps the easiest infinite to come out of Secrets of Strixhaven is Berta, Wise Extrapolator. All you need is Intruder Alarm and Plaguemaw Beast. Simply tap Berta, Wise Extrapolator for at least one mana, which creates a token that triggers Intruder Alarm and untaps all creatures. With that trigger on the stack, activate Plaguemaw Beast to sacrifice the creature made with Berta to proliferate and add an extra +1/+1 counter onto Berta to make the mana needed to use its ability again. Keep looping these effects for infinite proliferation and enter the battlefield and leave the battlefield triggers.

Emeritus of Ideation

The most hyped card of Secrets of Strixhaven during spoiler season was Emeritus of Ideation, and is a part of a combo with Displacer Kitten, Intruder Alarm, and any creature that can tap for a Blue mana. Cast Ancestral Recall from Emeritus of Ideation, which triggers Displacer Kitten. Use it to blink Emeritus, which then triggers Intruder Alarm to untap all your creatures. With you Blue mana dork, cast Ancestral Recall again to repeat the loop. This lets you make everyone draw their entire deck and lose the game from being unable to draw.

Phage Combo

This one is very goofy. Simply control Phage the Untouchable and use Echocasting Symposium to make a player make a copy of it. This makes them lose the game, and since it has paradigm, everyone is on a clock unless they can remove Phage from the battlefield. Even if Phage does get removed, Echocasting Symposium is still just a solid card to copy other creatures as a backup.

Marvel Super Heroes

Fantastic Four

Fitting, all of the Fantastic Four cards combo together if all are on the battlefield. Human Torch, Johnny Storm, it deals one damage to an opponent when you draw a card. This then triggers The Thing, Ben Grimm, which puts two +1/+1 counters on itself. Then, this’ll trigger Invisible Woman, Sue Storm to create a 0/4 Wall token. Finally, this triggers Mister Fantastic, Reed Richards, which draws a card when a token enters. This brings the loop back to the start, and will lead to burning everyone out of the game. Since Reed and Sue’s effects are a may, you can break the loop at any time so you don’t accidentally mill yourself out.

Thor Combats

For an easy way to take infinite combats, you can utilize The Mighty Thor, Jane Foster and Aurelia, the Warleader. When you attack with the first time with both, Aurelia will give you an extra combat, and Thor will blink Aurelia. This makes it “forget” it attacked for the first time. So, when you attack in the extra combat, it’ll think it’s the first time, and Thor will blink it again. Keep looping these for an infinite number of combat steps.

The Hobbit

Notary Hobbits

A very strong card from The Hobbit is The Notary Hobbits. It comes in being able to make nine colorless mana with the tokens it comes with. To make infinite mana with it, all you need is Staff of Domination and two extra Hobbits on the battlefield. Simply tap one of The Notary Hobbits to generate five mana, then use three of that mana to use Staff of Domination to untap Notary Hobbits, then use one mana to untap the Staff. This lets you with one extra mana, and will make infinite mana. This lets you gain infinite life, tap down all creatures, and draw your whole deck with the Staff.

Thorin, King of Durin’s Folk

This combo is a strong one that results in an infinite number of creature tokens. With Leyline of Transformation (or any permanent that makes all creatures Dwarfs) and Jinnie Fay, Jetmir's Second on the battlefield, cast Thorin, King of Durin's Folk. This will cause a Treasure token to be created. However, use Jinnie Fay’s ability to substitute that for a 2/2 Cat with haste. Leyline will make that Cat into a Dwarf, which will trigger Thorin again. Repeat this until you have an infinite number of 2/2 tokens with haste. To end the loop, simply opt to not substitute the Treasure token for a creature token and swing out at everyone.

Smaug Loops

Smaug the Impenetrable is a card that is just begging to be the star of combos. All you need is any permanent that can deal one damage to it. There are two best choices. One is with Mayhem Devil. Simply sacrifice any permanent, and have Mayhem Devil point the damage to Smaug the Impenetrable. This will make a Treasure token, that you sacrifice for any color of mana. Then, Mayhem Devil triggers again. Repeat this process, and you’ll make infinite mana from Treasure tokens and have infinite sacrifice triggers. Technically, you make infinite Treasures, but they’re used up right away. A similar combo is with Pyrohemia. Activate it for one Red mana to deal one damage to each player and creature. This triggers Smaug to make a Treasure to use the ability again. The downside to this is you can only win the game with it if you have the highest life total.

In Conclusion

2026 had so many new combos and toys that players can use across the various bracket levels. This article didn’t go over every combo, just ones that have the most relevance. A lot of new cards have similar effects to other cards and are interchangeable with older cards that were used for the same purpose. Combos are the easiest way to end most Commander games, and save you the hassle of having to worry about getting through defenders to win through combat damage.

In 2026, combos are as prevalent as ever. In some cases, they have even appeared in precons. Combos are not something that is ever going to go anywhere in Commander (outside of the lowest bracket level), so it’s best to always be prepared for them.
