Reality Fracture is the last in-universe set for Magic in 2026, and what a set to go out on. It’s a bit of a love letter to the game, featuring an alternate world and many dual versions of various characters. The set is legendary-heavy, with each pack guaranteed to have an echoed pair. So, odds are, you’ll find a new commander for you if you open one. Here, we’ll go over six different Commander decks you can play, two for three different themes. Read on to discover your next Commander deck to bring to your next game night.
Reality Fracture Decks: Fractured Pairs
The two decks here will feature one commander from the original Multiverse and one from the Echoverse. They aren’t going to be the same creature because, to be honest, usually one is much stronger than the other. Many of them are more built for Limited, so their effects are either weak or a tad boring. However, the two commanders here are anything but that!
Danitha, Spear of Agony
The Echoverse version of Danitha makes for a very fascinating Control commander. Danitha, Spear of Agony grows in stats every time you cast a spell that targets an opponent. In the deck, this is done by traditional removal spells like Infernal Grasp, or with Auras like Mire's Grasp. It’s a kind of Voltron-Control hybrid that uses Danitha as your main source of damage and the rest of your cards as a way to remove any problem creatures.
Outside of your commander, you have a few creatures that can benefit from your game plan. Since so many creatures will die on your opponents’ battlefield, Vincent Valentine can grow drastically in stats. It turns into a great body with trample and lifelink whenever you want too (so long as you can attack). For draw power, both Kothophed, Soul Hoarder and Hateful Eidolon have you covered, along with Morbid Opportunist, though that’s only once a turn.
You can even steal your opponents’ creatures. There are multiple Auras in Black where, if the enchanted creature dies, it returns to the battlefield under your control. Since you have so many targeted removal options, you can enchant a useful creature, then kill it to put it onto your battlefield. Cards such as this include Changing Loyalty, Minion's Return, and
A sample decklist can be viewed below. There is a low number of creatures, since most of your damage is being dealt by

Mabel, Valley Hero
Mabel, Valley Hero is a very strong commander that gets super aggro. If you love turning cards sideways, it’s the perfect commander for you. This build is a token commander, utilizing cards like Release the Dogs and Hop to It to make a bulk of tokens in one turn, then pump up a creature that also entered that turn (or spread out counters to all of them).
Every time a creature enters, you always have a chance to put a +1/+1 counter on it (so long as Mabel is around). This makes cards like Abzan Battle Priest, Abzan Falconer, and Ainok Strike Leader much stronger. For some extra +1/+1 counter juice, Yoshimaru, Beloved Companion puts more on them, and Damning Verdict is often a one-sided board wipe unless your opponents are also on a counter deck.
The best cards in the deck are ones that can create multiple token creatures in one turn. Examples include Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon, Assemble the Legion, Krenko, Mob Boss. This gives you a ton of Mabel, Valley Hero triggers, giving them more stat boosts. You can convert this into more burn damage with cards like Impact Tremors and Warleader's Call.
A sample decklist can be viewed below. It’s a very creature-heavy deck, making up the majority of the deck. Play creatures, put counters on them, turn cards sideways.

Reality Fracture Decks: Founder Sphinxes
In the Echoverse, instead of Dragons founding Strixhaven, Sphinxes founded Hexhaven, the Echoverse’s version of the school. Like their Dragon counterparts, they make for unique commanders that can do a lot. They are dual-colored commanders that are all rather varied, and we’ll be looking at two of them.
Ingris Stingerquill
Ingris Stingerquill is a commander that is very strong. The commander is simple: when a creature attacks, it will deal one damage directly to each opponent. There are various ways to build Ingris, but this specific one will be Infect, using cards like Reaper of Sheoldred and Ichorclaw Myr. Since Ingris Stingerquill makes the creature attacking deal combat damage, and they have infect, that’ll give all your opponents a poison counter. So, if you attack with three creatures with infect, that’s three poison counters to all your opponents, and that’s before they ever connect for damage.
One problem with Infect is that it can be hard to get the last poison counters needed to take someone out of the game. Ingris Stingerquill can help with this, but you aren’t always going to control it. Proliferation is one such way to help with this.
To help your pings deal more damage, there are multiple damage enhancers in the deck. Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might is the best since it turns the one damage four. More boosting sources include Hawkeye, Young Avenger, Tomik, Izzet Sparkmage, City on Fire, and Gratuitous Violence. These effects all stack, so you can potentially take all your opponents out in just one swing with enough creatures with infect.
A sample decklist can be viewed below. Most of the deck consists either of creatures with infect, ways to deal more damage, or ways to pump up poison counters.

Denzilore Fatehold
For the Azorius Sphix, we have Denzilore Fatehold. This commander is one that’s quite easy to build, a deck with a ton of scrying or surveilling. Since it triggers every time you do either, you have a lot of ways to constantly trigger it with cards like Planetarium of Wan Shi Tong and Crystal Ball. Though, many are attached to creatures so you have some to put +1/+1 counters on.
There is a lot of very good +1/+1 counter support in Azorius. Most of your creatures have lower stats, so Sigarda's Summons makes them all into 4/4 flying creatures to make them harder to block in combat. Both Wave Goodbye and Damning Verdict have the potential to be a one-sided board wipe. For extra +1/+1 counters on all your creatures for just playing your deck, Felidar Retreat can do that, as can Retreat to Coralhelm is you control your commander.
The best creatures are ones that let you scry easily. Elvish Mariner, Faerie Seer, and Nightveil Sprite all scry when they attack. To help keep your hand ful, various cards let you draw when a counter is put on creatures, such as Danny Pink and Pensive Professor. And you can make all of your creatures unblockable with Herald of Secret Streams.

Reality Fracture Decks: From Commander Set
These last two commanders are built with commanders from the Commander set attached to Reality Fracture. There was only one preconstructed deck, and to be blunt, it’s not particularly…good. But, it does have some cool cards you can build around, which is exactly what these two decks are. It probably isn’t worth simply upgrading the precon because there is just too many things wrong with it. Not enough synergies to make what it’s trying to do work. However, it is very good for taking apart for parts for other decks, which is what we’ve done here.
Jace, Multiverse Architect
The face of the precon, Jace, Multiverse Architect is a commander that is part Jace-Tribal, part-Polymorph. Since Jace is the star of Realtiy Fracture, it only makes sense to have a deck build around him. It plays Jaces throughout history from his first card Jace Beleren to the Phyrexian Jace, the Perfected Mind, to his final act in The Theorist, Jace Beleren.
You can sacrifice any of the Jaces to your commander, or any token to polymorph them into much more powerful creatures. Ovika, Enigma Goliath can start getting you a ton of chump blockers and more cards to polymorph. Toxrill, the Corrosive helps to control the battlefield, and Gisela, Blade of Goldnight significantly reduces the damage you take. There aren’t a ton of creatures, and you don’t want too many to make sure your polymorph effects don’t whiff.
Not all the Jaces have great loyalty abilities. Luckily, there is an entire cycle of cards to give them better ones. Way of the Cryomancer lets them copy another instant or sorcery, which is a great way to polymorph two tokens for the price of one. Way of the Deathbringer can turn a weak token into a strong one, and Way of the Pyromancer turns all your planeswalkers into mana dorks. With Way of the Mind Sculptor, you can draw cards more consistently from activating more expensive loyalty abilities. Since these all empower Jace as well, it becomes trivial to activate their ultimate abilities.
A sample decklist can be viewed below. Most of it is Jace, planeswalker support, or powerful utility creatures.

The Ur-Sphinx
With Reality Fracture’s release, Sphinxes finally have a go-to commander with The Ur-Sphinx. It discounts all your Sphinx spells by one, and since they are usually costly, that stacks up. It’ll also give your Sphinx the ability to let you mill everyone and cast spells for free from those cards. To help deepen the discount, Urza's Incubator and Cloud Key can help to make Sphinx even easier to cast.
There are plenty of powerful Sphinxes in Magic since they’ve been around for so long. To potentially cast more spells for free, you have Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign. For more theft, Sphinx Ambassador lets you steal any card out of a player’s library and unless they guess correctly, you get to put that onto your battlefield. The odds of them being correct are pretty close to zero, so the odds are this will always resolve. There is a chance you’ll mill multiple Sphinxes and be unable to play them. With Conspiracy Unraveler, you can instead use them as a way to cast a spell for free by exiling them.
As mentioned before, you do have high odds of getting Sphinx cards milled, or just removed, since many have powerful effects. Luckily, there is a lot of recursion you can take advantage of. Bloodline Bidding can put all your Sphinx creatures back onto the battlefield, possibly for as low as two mana. Patriarch's Bidding can do the same, as the odds of your opponents having any Sphinx to take advantage of the card are very low. Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Breach the Multiverse are all other ways to get creatures out of graveyards and onto your battlefield.
A sample decklist can be viewed below. It’s very Sphinx-heavy, with the other cards either Control spells, or ways to discount your Sphinxes.

In Conclusion
Reality Fracture offers a ton of new commanders. Whether they simply “build themselves” commanders or offer more unique deckbuilding changes, there is something for every kind of brewer. The six gone over here encompass many areas in playstyles, from Superfriends to pure Aggro to Control and even a hint of Tribal.
While the Echoverse is gone, its cards will remain and offer plenty of commanders to choose from. And perhaps it may make an appearance again on day. It is inside Emrakul’s belly after all.
With Emrakul being the solution to the Echoverse problem, maybe it puts you in the mood to play a deck with Eldrazi in it! If you are, you can check out our Eldrazi guide over here.
